The 2022 Vipères Gala – A celebration of resilience and passion!

13 April 2022
A festive spirit reigned over tonight’s Vipères Gala in celebration of the talent and perseverance of Collège Boréal athletes who achieved remarkable academic and sporting success. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the gala was an in-person event. This year, the Denis Dionne Award for sporting spirit was presented to Kristen Vane (from Timmins ON). Created in honour of Mr. Dennis Dionne, former coach of Collège Boréal’s badminton team, this award is presented annually by the Collège Boréal Foundation to a player who has shown outstanding team spirit. The Alumni Award was presented to Patrick Boileau for his great contribution to the world of sports and in particular, to Collège Boréal.

This year more than ever, I raise my hat to the Vipères athletes for their perseverance in the face of the uncertainties brought about by the pandemic. We are all proud to see them perform at such a high level, despite having been forced to stop training at the college’s sports centre. I salute their sporting and academic successes and I admire their determination and talent. The entire Boréal family takes pride in our athletes!
