A free six-week micro-certification to work in the long-term care field offered at Collège Boréal for a limited time!

25 August 2021
The College is proud to partner with community partners and Colleges and Institutes Canada to offer the Supportive Care Assistant program across Ontario.

Collège Boréal is offering this fully subsidized micro-certificate in both French and English as part of a national initiative to address critical labour shortages in the long-term care sector. On-line training begins September 7, 2021.

Upon completion of the online training, students will undertake a 4-month paid work placement, allowing them to immediately apply their knowledge and quickly enter the workforce in their region. This internship is offered thanks to the collaboration of long-term care centers throughout Ontario.

Targeted training to meet the needs of all communities across the province!

This six-week flexible online training provides a real steppingstone to this high-demand career and can help accelerate the next step to become a fully certified personal care provider. Through partnerships with long-term care service providers across Ontario, students will have the opportunity to apply what they learn during the 6-week online training by starting work quickly in a fully-paid internship.

We are proud to offer this micro-certification and to have been chosen by Colleges and Institutes Canada to provide quality training throughout Ontario. This program is perfectly in line with Collège Boréal’s desire to respond to the province’s call to train qualified health professionals ready to meet the needs of our public health system.
