Services for Students with Special Needs

Our team work in collaboration with the college community to provide an accessible educational environment that aims to support the success of students with special needs.

Our services are available to help you better understand the accommodations available to students with special needs and your responsibilities in regards to these accommodations.

Possible Accommodations:

  • extra time for tests and exams
  • sound amplification system
  • interpretation services
  • note taking (hand written or electronic)
  • hearing devices for classes, assignments, or evaluations
  • course load modification
  • computers with adaptive software
  • other accommodations based on needs assessment

Financial aid for students with special needs:

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) offers financial aid to students with special needs in order to pay the cost of services or equipment required during their postsecondary studies. Students can receive up to $10,000/year.

Learning Strategies and Adaptive Software

Do you have a learning difficulty? You can get the support and training you need to help you face these learning challenges and overcome your obstacles.

Learning Strategies:

  • time management, study habits, note taking, etc.
  • accommodations based on your needs
  • troubleshooting and evaluation
