Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition in Canada
Thinking of undertaking postsecondary studies?
Perhaps you think that the content of certain courses offered at the college is close to knowledge and skills you have acquired working or during leisure or volunteer activities.
Collège Boréal can evaluate you and give you credit for knowledge that corresponds to the academic requirements of the program that interests you.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition in Canada (PLAR) is the process that allows you to obtain these credits.
Through this process, we recognize learning that took place outside traditional teaching institutions. The exemptions and credit transfers are other ways that allow individuals to obtain these credits.
To be admissible, candidates need to meet general Collège admission requirements but do not need to be registered for a study program at the Collège.
The participation fee for the PLAR program is $98 for each class evaluated. Consult the college calendar to find out the limits to presenting a PLAR request.
For more information, communicate with the program access representative at ext. 2070.
