Description:

Sonography is a stimulating profession in constant evolution. Medical sonographers use devices that produce and record images of various parts of the body in order to help doctors monitor pregnancies and diagnose health problems. There is currently a shortage of sonography technicians in the field. The Ultrasonography program prepares the student to perform the tasks relating to ultrasound examinations in an autonomous and professional manner. The sonographer produces images of the human body in accordance with the clinical information gathered, and transmits the precise sonographic data to the radiologist. The program prepares participants to sit for the registered examinations as soon as they have obtained their diploma. The Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals recognizes the certification exams of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Graduates of this program can specialize in ultrasonography as well as in cardiac, cerebral, musculoskeletal and peripheral vascular sonography.
