Description:

This program is designed for the student who wishes to do advanced studies in health sciences. With this program, candidates may further prepare for admission and success in college and university specialization programs. The program familiarizes the student with the role and responsibilities of various health professionals as well as the academic requirements of difference disciplines. Collège Boréal sets aside a number of places in each of its health science programs for students of this program. Upon successful completion of a course, earned credits are transferred to the chosen program in health sciences.

  • To develop the research, reading, and writing aptitudes required to succeed in health sciences
  • To broaden mathematical and scientific knowledge and its applications in health sciences
  • To know the different health fields and determine possibles options

Admission conditions:

  • Ontario high school diploma or its equivalent from another province, or mature student status
  • 1 French credit: grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university

Notes:

  • Individuals who successfully complete this program will gain adequate preparation to be admitted in an appropriate health sciences study program. They have the possibility to work in an employment field where qualified graduates are strongly in demand. It is also a well-paid job allowing graduates to return home after their studies
  • Completing a Pre-Health science certificate at Collège Boréal, with a grade point average of 3.0 or more ensures a place in a health science program that doesn’t have limited enrolment
  • Completing a Pre-Health science certificate at Collège Boréal, with a grade point average of 3.3 ensures students a place in the program of their choice in health science, unless the number of candidates is greater than the number of places available. If this is the case, admission will be granted according to the academic records of the applicants: 40 places in Dental Hygiene and 25 places in Medical Radiation Technique. Students who want to continue studies in Medical Radiation Technique must have a 70% average in “PSA1005 Physique pour Sciences de la santé.”
