Description:

This program meets the needs of the job market by simulating the office environment. In this way, it prepares the student to use current office techniques, office automation, and bilingual communications skills which are required to perform office work.

The student acquires practical knowledge through the use of software programs to manage and recreate electronic business documents in English and French. The software covered in the courses are Windows, Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Simply Accounting, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Netscape. Also emphasized are notions which foster professional success, such as customer service, interpersonal relationships, telephone protocols, respect for deadlines and teamwork.

Admission requirements:

  • Ontario high school diploma or its equivalent from another province, or mature student status
  • 2 French credits (at least 1 mandatory group course)
  • grade 11 or 12, pre-collegial or pre-university

Strongly recommended: basic knowledge of computers, ability to type 20 words/minute
