Description:

This 1,500-hour program trains technicians to give professional haircuts, apply a perm, colour hair and perform many other related services. A thorough knowledge of hair, scalp, skin and hair products as well as a detailed client evaluation are essential prerequisites in the choice of  appropriate products, their use, and the techniques and steps that will assure the well-being, safety, and satisfaction of clients. This program also prepares its graduates to manage a business.

  • Kit: $800
  • Textbooks: $250
  • Educational excursions (e.g. convention in Toronto, Barrie): $500
  • Certificate: $150 x 2 = $300

 

Admission requirements:

  • Ontario high school diploma or its equivalent in another province, or mature student status
  • 1 French credit (1 mandatory group course): grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university

 

Recommended course or other:

  • Biology, mathematics, and chemistry courses: grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university

Notes:

  • Dress code: a black uniform at Sudbury campus and a navy blue uniform at Timmins campus
  • All of our programs are offered in French. Taking into account the realities of the job market, Collège Boréal prepares its students to work in both official languages. Your program could include English texts and documents and the possibility of an internship where bilingualism is required
