Description:

This program covers  the basic aspects of the electricity industry. Students learn to install and maintain electrical equipment, primarily in single-family homes, and to repair and test electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, motors, actuators, electrical panels and residential control systems. The program also covers electronics work, such as repair and maintenance of household appliances and automotive electronics. This program contains all of the requirements of level 1 of the electricity program.

Admission requirements:

  • Ontario high school diploma or its equivalent in another province, or mature student status
  • 1 French credit: grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university
  • 2 mathematics credits : grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university

     

Recommended course or other:

  • 1 physics course: grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university

  • After obtaining a certificate, graduates may enroll in the 2nd year Electrical Engineering Technician program
  • Possibility of an apprenticeship program diploma (coop) in this field
  • All of our programs are offered in French. Taking into account the realities of the job market, Collège Boréal prepares its students to work in both official languages. Your program could include English texts and documents and the possibility of an internship where bilingualism is required
