Electrical Engineering Technologist

Campus: Sudbury (SU)

Program code:

ELTG

Admission code:

ELTC

Length:

3rd year (specialization)

Description:

This program covers the technical functions relating to various aspects of electrical engineering. The technologist designs electricity generation, distribution, and protection equipment, conceives prototypes, and does the final assembly of electricity-generation, distribution, and protection equipment as well as reading/meterage devices.

Functions include: supervision of technicians;  assistance to engineers in the design, testing, installation, activation and maintenance of electrical machinery and electronic control systems; analysis of electrical problems for power systems using mathematical models and analytic geometry.

Our industrial labs (PLC, MCC, and AC Drives) ensure an education that is relevant to various industries. Students who successfully complete the electrical engineering technologist (Technologie du génie électrique) program meet the requirements of the Training Office for the basic, intermediate and advanced levels of the apprenticeship program for industrial electricians.
