Description:

This program gives the student the skills required to work in a computer technical support environment. The program covers maintenance, technical assistance, and repair of computers and peripherals, as well as the use of common computer software.  It also includes the basic notions of networking and problem-solving.

Admission requirements:

  • Ontario high college diploma or its equivalent in another province, or mature student status
  • 1 French credit:grade 11 or 12, pre-college or pre-university

  • Service offices
  • Computer repair companies
  • Technical support centres (Helpdesk)
  • Customer service and sales of computer products

  • The first semester is the same as that of the Computer Engineering Technician program (Techniques du génie informatique). Consequently, the student may choose either the Computer Sciences - Support program or the Computer Engineering Technician program at the end of the first semester.
