Enroll in college without grade 12
The literacy and basic skills program provides free training for the adult who is lacking his OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma), and would like the ACE certificate.
The ACE certificate is considered the equivalent to Grade 12 and approved by the ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. It is also recognized by many employers across Ontario.
The Academic Career Entrance program has a continuous intake. This means that participants can sign up anytime.
There is a minimum requirement for graduation, individuals must obtain a 70% average in each course. Statitics show that ACE graduates typically obtain a 3.20 Grade Point Average (B+) or higher in College postsecondary programs.
Full time learners (17 hrs per week) can register in one postsecondary course per semester for free. This allows the learner to explore a particular interest.
The personalized training plan is based on the individuals needs and allows for: a full time or part schedule, continuous intake and access to the college services (fitness centre, tutoring, special needs, library, computer labs, student services, etc). The materials needed to learn are provided at no cost and it is also possible to receive financial help for your transportation.
We strongly encourage learners that are enrolled in the ACE program at Collège Boréal to take the Self Direction and Computer skills courses.
The ACE program is approved in all 24 colleges in the province.
