Following this announcement, Boréal’s Development Office Director shared details of several upcoming alumni events. Since its relaunch in the fall of 2015, Collège Boréal’s Alumni Association has increased its visibility. In addition to the launch of a new website, excellence.collegeboreal.ca, the Association has an increased presence on social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
On March 22, the Association will launch its conference series with guest speaker and former NHL player Mr. Steven Finn. Motivational speaker, Mr. Finn gained international fame as captain and assistant captain with the Quebec Nordiques, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Los Angeles Kings. Entitled “Être maître de ses pensées, c’est devenir maître de sa vie” (Master your Thoughts, Master your Life), this conference will highlight the importance of resiliency and perseverance. While there is no cost to participate, registration is required.
On April 8, the same day as the college’s Sudbury open house, Boréal’s Alumni Association will hold a volleyball tournament and evening reception. Former athletes are invited to attend and reconnect.
Finally, on June 22, Boréal graduates, employees, and community partners are invited to take part in a golf tournament. A dinner, courtesy of the Alumni Association, will be served and participants will have the chance to win several prizes. Not to be missed, this activity aims to raise money for the Boréal’s scholarship program.
“Our graduates are an invaluable resource for the college and Boréal’s Alumni Association is what bonds them. I encourage every Collège Boréal graduate to reconnect with the Association, keep in touch, and carry themselves with pride wherever they may go.”
Daniel Giroux, President, Collège Boréal
“On behalf of the Alumni Association, I want to thank all our community partners who contribute to the development of the college and its graduates. We are proud to announce our upcoming events and hope to see a large turnout of our members.”
