As part of their Leadership I and II courses, students enrolled in the Physical Activity and Health Promotion program took part in a leadership camp at Camp Richelieu on September 26 and 27.
The goal of the leadership camp is to offer students a practical learning experience through which students take on a leadership role within groups while creating, organizing and giving various workshops. All activities are designed to develop leadership, teamwork, cooperation, and communication abilities.
The Physical Activity and Health Promotion program at Collège Boréal helps train tomorrow’s leaders who will go on to improve the overall health, fitness, and well-being of the community. Upon graduation, these students will have access to employment opportunities in a number of areas including fitness centres, rehabilitation clinics, long-term care facilities as well as municipal leisure, recreational, and health organizations.
“Collège Boréal is committed to providing the training tools and support necessary for developing tomorrow’s leaders. Hands-on experiences allow students to gain the knowledge and abilities required to succeed in their field while contributing to the vitality and well-being of their community.”
Pierre Riopel, President, Collège Boréal
“The leadership camp allows students to acquire interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Hitting the books is part of the collegiate experience, but so are opportunities that promote new friendships and fun! ”
Émilie Lacroix, Professor and Coordinator, School of Business and Community Services
